Have you ever noticed that some things just come naturally to you? Maybe you’re a gifted communicator, able to connect with people from all walks of life. Perhaps you have a brilliant analytical mind, capable of solving complex problems with ease. Or maybe you have a deeply compassionate heart, always knowing the right thing to say to comfort a friend.
We often dismiss these things as mere personality traits or skills we’ve picked up along the way. But what if I told you that your natural strengths are not random? What if they are, in fact, divine gifts, hand-picked by God and intentionally woven into the fabric of your being to prepare you for the unique purpose He has for your life?
This is a game-changing perspective. It shifts our view of ourselves from a collection of random attributes to a purposefully designed creation.
In Progress Toward Purpose, we explore this idea more. The principle of Purpose-The Why of It is about understanding that you were created on purpose, for a purpose. And the clues to that purpose are often hidden in plain sight, in the very things you are naturally good at. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.’“
Your gifts are not just for you. They are for the world. They are the tools God has given you to make a difference, to serve others, and to bring Him glory.
This is also deeply connected to the principle of Career-Maximize Your Options. When you align your career with your God-given strengths and talents, work is no longer just a job; it becomes a calling. It’s a place where you can use your gifts to their fullest potential, and it brings a sense of fulfillment that no paycheck can buy.
And let’s not forget the principle of Self-Esteem-Know Your Worth.
Understanding that your strengths are divine gifts is a powerful antidote to self-doubt. When you recognize that your talents were bestowed upon you by the Creator of the universe, it’s hard to feel inadequate. You are not just ‘“good at’“ something; you are a steward of a divine gift.
So, I want you to take a moment and reflect. What are you good at? What do people consistently compliment you on? What activities make you feel energized and alive? Don’t dismiss anything as too small, insignificant, or not a part of your paycheck. Make a list. Pray over it. Ask God to show you how these strengths are connected to the purpose He has for you.
In the Progress Toward Purpose program, we do a deep dive into this very topic. We use practical tools and spiritual guidance to help you identify your unique gifts and understand how they fit into God’s plan for your life. We help you connect the dots between your passions, your strengths, and your purpose.
You are a treasure chest of divine gifts, waiting to be opened. The world is waiting for you to share your best self. Are you ready to discover and deploy your God-given strengths for a life of purpose? Join our community and get on track, now.
